With its beautiful landscaped park and immaculately kept enclosures, Basel Zoo makes an unforgettable day out at any time of year.
Here, you can watch Indian rhinoceroses splashing in the waterscape of their pen. In addition to these archaic looking giants, there are also Chinese muntjacs and dwarf otters to give you an impression of the sheer variety of Asian fauna. Those more interested in marine life will find a motley crew of creatures such as seahorses, sharks and penguins in the vivarium.

- Opening hours:
November–February 8 am–5.30 pm; March 8 am–6 pm - Transfer: The zoo is 10 minutes’ walk from the Swiss railway station (Basel SBB). Alternatively, you can take a No. 10 tram to Ettingen/Rodersdorf and alight at the main entrance to the zoo (the tram fare is NOT included in the SBB RailAway combi-ticket).
